Formerly of Smith & Higgings & Associates (1976-2004), more recently Hennig & Co. Pty. Ltd. and now providing surveying and land information services as Jeffrey Fudge & Associates.
Smith & Higgings & Associates
Smith & Higgings & Associates was owned and operated by Peter Smith and John Higgins whom are acknowledged as two of the most respected and competent surveyors of their era. Jeffrey joined them in 1976 after graduating from the then Institute of Technology. Peter and John chose to retire from business in 1991 and offered Smith & Higgins & Associates to Jeffrey as a going concern. Jeffrey became owner/operator in 1991 and continued in that capacity until 2004.
Hennig & Co. Pty. Ltd.
Discussions with Mr. Bryan Hennig in late 2003 encompassing economies of scale, cost benefits of amalgamation, access to more resources and reduction of individual work load led to the formulation of various models whereby both organisations would benefit from amalgamation. A model was selected and Jeffrey sold Smith & Higgings & Associates to Hennig & Co. Pty. Ltd. in June 2004. Jeffrey was subsequently offered employment within Hennig & Co. Pty. Ltd. Due to a downturn in work, Jeffrey was retrenched by Hennig & Co. Pty. Ltd. in October 2012.
Qualifications
Jeffrey graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology in 1976 with a Bachelor of Technology in Surveying. Upon completing the required two years practical experience and survey project to the Surveyors Board’s satisfaction, Jeffrey was granted his license to carry out cadastral surveys in August 1978. Jeffrey has kept his license continuously since that time.
In addition Jeffrey has been a member of the Institution of Surveyors since 1978 and is a current member of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI). Membership of these professional associations, whilst not compulsory, enables interaction with other surveying professionals and provides access to conferences, workshops and publications. These are key tools in keeping abreast of developments in the surveying profession.
